Text to speech communicator for people with any difficulty in speech.
Sometimes, the need itself creates resources to solve it. This is the case of this text-to-speech application that I created: "Comunicant".
At the beginning, I created it for people with functional diversity, with acquired literacy and who have speech problems, such as dysarthria like me or any other aphasia. But in the latest version, I added the ability to dictate the text with the voice and thus opens the opportunity for this app to facilitate communication between people with different disabilities. Since a deaf person can read what a blind person dictates or what a person with speech difficulties writes, and at the same time, a person with a visual impairment can listen to what a person with speech difficulties or a person writes. with hearing disability.
Even knowing that there are many similar in the market, most if they are free carry advertising and if they are not payment. So I decided to create my own, with the basic options of reproduction and stop the text to voice and the button to erase the written content.
In addition, there are also 2 buttons for customization of font size, text color and background to the needs of each person.
I have incorporated a button to share the text with any application, for example: email or with an instant messaging application. This makes the application also a support to write messages or write a text if the person needs or is better writing with a larger font size not available in other applications.
It also includes a button with the possibility of maintaining 4 predetermined notes or messages.
In the latest version I have incorporated a new option to create a panel of personalized communication of words or phrases that each person uses more. You only have to enter the text in the box and click on the "save phrases" button, then a list will appear where to select in which button or option to put that text. Then just give each button / option to hear or say the text previously saved.
It uses the speech synthesis installed and predetermined in each mobile device, be it male or female, just as text prediction is also governed by the one defined on the keyboard of each device.
A very simple application but very effective at the same time for those people who have dysarthria or any other difficulty in speech.
